a messy bun is so easy to love. And it pretty much goes with everything. from on-the-go business planning to low-key exercising (ok but same,) to movie series binging and hot messing around town, there is so much you can do without having to do your hair. and who doesn’t love that? we really dig a messy bun for one key reason…. there is no one precious way to create it. messy is the whole. fcking. point. buttttt, just in case you need a little bit of help, here are some pro-styling tips.
- start with clean hair. LOL. jk. clean. unclean. who cares?!
- do the ol’ flip-aroo to gather all your hair together. local hair scientists say bending in half is the easiest way to get all of hair your in one place. but. if you can do grab all of your hair without the forces of gravity assisting you. more power to ya.
- once you’re right side up again. with hair in hand. slip on your fave hair tie the other. highly reco a fabric scrunchie because they look super cute. are having a moment. and are friendly to a lot of hair types.
- twist it around your hair once. then on the second twist. pull half of your hair through. and stop. now admire the lil palm tree on your head.
- if you want more mess. wiggle your head back and forth or pull some strands around.
- if you want more control. take the excess tail of hair. wrap it around the base of your hair tie. and tuck it in. maaaaybe even think about throwing a few bobby pins for extra security. maybe.
- then. pull a few face-framing pieces of hair out of the bun to complete the look.
