The Women-Owned California Brands You Need to Shop

If you’re going to spend that cash, spend it somewhere that feels gooood.

Consider this not only your shopping guide to your local-lady-and-Black-owned-Cali-backyard but a map of entrepreneurs who have built their businesses with the community in mind. Aka the giving back and community-building is built right into their models. Score. Next time you’re spending a Saturday on the town sipping, shopping, and *cough, cough* chilling, add these seven businesses to your list and do some good— without breaking the slightest sweat.

Elevate Jane

Elevate Jane’s name is quite literal— the brand consistently puts out smoking accessories that bridge the gap between elegant, kitsch, and cute. Bonus points that we heard a rumor that our pal Miley Cyrus and her mom Tish absolutely adore this brand.

Dazey LA

Dazey LA started out as a sustainable clothing and accessory company with hand-drawn patterns by founder Dani Dazey and have since added in offerings from other women-owned shops.

Neat Coffee

This Costa Mesa coffee shop is very community-oriented— they regularly host “Neat at Nite,” a nighttime affair with movies, milkshakes, and neighbors.

Resident Objects

Online LA-based vintage store Resident Objects curates the best homewares and furniture you need to turn your apartment into a sherbet-hued 80s dream home.

Toastyy

If you need your CBD fix, head over to Toastyy— not only do they have the cutest packaging, but their tinctures, supplements, and topicals are top-fn-tier.

Golde

Plant based wellness done right. From the outside in and the inside out (meaning add-water-to-activate masks, superfood supplements, and more).

Brightland

Top-tier olive oils and vinegars sourced straight from the brand's family-run California farm. According to their website, their sole ingredient comes from trees that live on for thousands of years so you know that it’s going to be good.

Happy shopping! And remember, pretty much everything that you could find at a superstore or online, can be found locally…. It just might take a lil digging :) But based on how fast you found  your ex's new girlfriend on IG, I think you’ll be fine.
